HOW DOES THE CHARMASTER BURN SO EFFICIENTLY?
CHARMASTER'S "EXCLUSIVE OVER THE FIRE" DRAFT
All Chalet, Charmaster and Charmaster II models have a sliding, heavy duty steel, solid grate system. Our furnaces bring their combustion air into the firebox over the top of the fire. This is what we call our "Over the Fire" draft.
Within our large 11" x 13" cast iron wood loading door is a smaller draft door.
When your wood thermostat calls for heat, the draft door opens, allowing air
to enter in "Over the Fire". This creates a large bed of hot charcoal embers,
which is the base for a tremendous source of heat for your home. Heat from the
firebox and heat exchanger rises into your plenum. A standard fan limit switch
senses the temperature in the plenum, which turns on your furnace blower and
distributes the heat into your ductwork.
With our "Over the Fire" draft, your wood combustion will be complete. Ashes
are burned thoroughly to a powder consistency. The continuous heat reserve also
prevents your chimney from cooling down. A warm smoke pipe and chimney cannot
produce creasote.
A Charmaster furnace will squeeze all of the heat from your wood with this efficient process, and will consume far less wood than other wood furnaces.
A larger charcoal bed allows burning wood earlier in the Fall and continue later in the Spring, with safe, clean equipment. The longer yearly burn times with a Charmaster furnace offers our customers even greater savings on their oil and gas bills. This is why a Charmaster furnace is the most efficient, dependable and practical wood furnace money can buy. This is why Charmaster is America's Finest Heating System.
