This triple-wall chimney features two insulating layers (ceramic blanket plus air space). The ceramic blanket insulation is held secure in position, eliminating hot spots common with loose-fill type insulations.
CHIMNEY REQUIREMENTS
NATIONAL, STATE AND LOCAL BUIDLING CODES MUST BE OBSERVED REGARDING CHIMNEY CONSTRUCTION. THE CHIMNEY FOR YOUR CHARMASTER WOOD FURNACE CANNOT SERVE ANY OTHER APPLIANCE. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION LAW.
A proper chimney is the most important part of your Charmaster wood burning system.
Charmaster recommends an inside chimney. A warm chimney is a clean chimney. Give
us a call and we can help you design a safe chimney.
The following chimney requirements for Charmaster furnaces are:
- Charmaster or Chalet Wood-Controls or Wood/Oil Furnace: one 8-inch inside
diameter Class "A" chimney.
- Charmaster or Chalet Wood-Lennox Gas combination furnace: one 8-inch inside
diameter Class "A" chimney for the Charmaster furnace and one 4 inch inside diameter
Class "B" chimney for the Lennox furnace.
- Charmaster recommends these sizes and ONLY these sizes. Draft and creosote
problems will occur if you have a chimney that is smaller or larger that we recommend.
Try it our way FIRST!
Charmaster recommends two types of Class A chimneys. The following requirements
for these chimneys are:
First choice: 8 inch inside Diameter CLASS "A" STAINELESS STEEL HIGH TEMPERATURE
ISULATED.
Second Choice: CLASS "A" MASONRY CHIMNEY installed with 8" x 12" day tile or
8" stainless steel liner.
